When is the Busan Fireworks Festival 2026?
On Saturday 7 November 2026. The Busan Festival Organizing Committee, which runs the festival for Busan Metropolitan City, lists it as the 21st edition, staged across Gwangalli Beach, Igidae and Dongbaekseom.
The official ticket listing gives the show as 7pm to 8pm, with an intermission scheduled from 7:15pm to 7:25pm. Fireworks are fired from the sea in front of Gwangan Bridge, so everything worth seeing faces the bridge.

The festival is one night only, so plan the rest of the trip around 7 November rather than the other way round.
How much are the paid seats?
R seats cost 100,000 won and come with a table and chairs. S seats cost 70,000 won and are chairs only. Both sit in a fenced block on the sand in front of Hotel Aquapellis and Homers Hotel, according to Seoul Shinmun and BusinessKorea's reports on the 4 September launch.
Busan residents get 10% off, at 90,000 and 63,000 won. The discount needs proof of a Busan address at the on-site ticket booth, so it does not apply to visitors. Foreign residents qualify only with an Alien Registration Card or residence report card showing a Busan address.
Demand is real. Seoul Shinmun reported that the early-bird allocation released on 26 August sold out in about a minute.
How do foreign visitors buy tickets?
Book on NOL World, the English site of the official ticket seller. The festival's English site links there, and the NOL World festival page says it is for international visitors only, with passport verification at booking.
Each person can buy up to 4 regular tickets. Sales run until 5pm on Friday 6 November 2026, and the Korean listing allows cancellation until 5pm the day before the show.
Collection depends on when you book. NOL World says bookings completed by 11 October are delivered in advance from 12 October, and bookings made from 12 October are collected on site. Someone else can collect for you with a copy of the buyer's ID and the booking confirmation.
The English site also sells hotel packages through NOL World. Compare the package price with a separate seat and room before paying for the bundle.
Where can you watch for free?
Anywhere outside the paid block. The rest of Gwangalli Beach is open, and the Korea Tourism Organization names Hwangnyeongsan, Dongbaekseom and Igidae Coastal Park as alternatives to the beach.
Gwangalli Beach, outside the paid block. Closest to the barges and the loudest. Spots on the sand fill hours before the show, and you will stand or sit on the ground in a very dense crowd.
Igidae Coastal Park. One of the organisers' three official venues, a coastal park across the water from the beach. Expect coastal paths rather than a promenade, and bring a light for the walk out.
Dongbaekseom. Another official venue, on the Haeundae side of the bay. It suits anyone staying in Haeundae.
Hwangnyeongsan. A viewpoint from above rather than from the shore. A high angle takes in the whole bridge, the barges and the city at once, like the photo at the top of this page, at the cost of distance.
Our pick for a first-timer who will not pay for a seat is Dongbaekseom. It is an official venue and it keeps you away from the beach where the densest crowd and the road closures are.
How do you get there and back?
By subway, and early. Visit Busan puts Gwangalli Beach a 13-minute walk from Exit 5 of Gwangan Station on Line 2. Roads around the beach close for the day, so taxis and buses are the slow option.
The 2026 transport plan had not been published as of 24 September 2026. The 2025 plan shows the pattern. Busan Ilbo reported that on festival day the city:
- closed Gwanganhaebyeon-ro along the beach to cars from 10am
- closed the upper deck of Gwangan Bridge from 3:30pm and the lower deck from 6:30pm
- ran empty trains into Suyeong, Gwangan and Geumnyeonsan stations when they became crowded, and warned that some stations could be skipped
- added buses on 21 routes near the venue, some running until midnight
Plan the way back before you go. The whole crowd leaves at about 8pm through the same few stations, and a station you arrived at can be skipped on the way out. Walking one or two stations away from the beach before boarding is the simplest fix.
Where should you stay for the fireworks?
In Gwangalli if you can get a room, ideally one facing the bridge. Gwangalli is the base our Busan accommodation guide suggests to anyone undecided, and on this one night it puts you within walking distance of the show, which removes the transport problem entirely.
A bridge-view room is the only way to watch in comfort without a paid seat. Book as soon as your dates are fixed, because every room on the beachfront is competing for the same Saturday.

How does the festival fit into a Busan trip?
Build the trip around the Saturday night, and keep that afternoon free. With seat entry from 3pm, or a free spot claimed in the early afternoon, the festival takes most of the day.
The day before or after suits the rest of the city: the old port around Busan Station on one day, the east coast from Haeundae on the other.
